Sunflower Seed Oil
As its name suggests, sunflower seed oil is extracted from the seeds of sunflowers. A great source of vitamin E, sunflower oil has emollient properties which help the skin to retain its moisture by locking it within its cells. This oil’s wealth of vitamin E & A also provide antioxidants which protect the skin from harmful UV rays & other environmental stressors. Sunflower seed oil is also high in omega-6 fatty acids, which provide anti-inflammatory properties that help to lower skin redness & roughness, while also enhancing the development of new skin cells. Due to its overall cooling nature, Ayurveda considers sunflower oil to be the most balancing oil for pitta-type skin.
Gotu Kola
First grown in India, gotu kola can be found in the Himalayan Mountain Range. According to Dr. Frawley, a leading Ayurvedic doctor, yogis ingest the plant prior to meditation because of its calming, stabilizing effects on the body & mind. Gotu kola is a brain tonic, as it revitalizes brain cells & is also packed with vitamin C. We include this powerful plant into our infusion for its bitter, cooling & purifying effects on pitta-type skin.
Coriander
Did you know that coriander is the seed of a cilantro plant? Commonly used in Indian curry & Ayurvedic cooking to promote healthy digestion, coriander, when used both internally & topically, helps maintain a clear complexion by reducing the excess heat brought on by an imbalance in pitta dosha. It also promotes feelings of relaxation thanks to its sweet, herbaceous aroma.

Hemp Seed Oil
Hemp seed oil, otherwise known as “hemp oil”, is different from cannabidiol oil (CBD) as it is made from the hemp seed & not the flower or leaves. Hemp oil has numerous health benefits including those that support the skin both internally & topically. Used topically, hemp seed oil has a moisturizing effect that will not clog your pores. It is also able to balance oily skin by regulating its natural sebum production, helping to prevent any acne flare-ups caused by excess oil. Hemp oil contains the omega- 6 fatty acid, gamma-linolenic acid , which acts as a powerful anti-inflammatory encouraging new skin growth & cell regeneration. Sandalwood
Our Sandalwood is sustainably grown in Northern Queensland, Australia, where the essential oil is made from the roots of mature sandalwood trees. Due to its mild astringent action & anti-inflammatory properties, this essential oil can help to diminish the appearance of skin imperfections, promoting a healthy, smooth complexion. Sandalwood is also high in antioxidants, reducing damage caused by free radicals, which in turn helps to prevent signs of aging. Sandalwood is so highly beneficial to the skin that it may even be able to help fight skin cancer! A study found that α-santalol , a compound found in sandalwood, can help promote the death of cancerous cells.
Tea Tree
Tea tree essential oil is commonly used to heal & treat acne, as it is antimicrobial & one of nature’s top inflammation inhibitors. Research has shown tea tree to be just as effective, if not more, than benzoyl peroxide , which is commonly used in anti-acne medication. Tea tree can soothe dry skin, act as a solvent that breaks up oil & dirt that clogs pores, improve rosacea, & reduce redness & swelling. Its antimicrobial & antibacterial properties also help to minimize & cleanse the pores.
